WHO I AM

Bio

Master degree at the Politechnical University of Turin (I), in December 1997 with a thesis on historical research and design in the field of “Industrial Archeology”, particularly regarding the renovation of an ancient hydraulic jack dating back to the XVII century.

State-registered by the Italian Council of Architects in 1998, I initially collaborated with several Engineers and Architects to upgrade my knowledge regarding civil architectural and MEP design.

Since 2000 to 2003, I became full time collaborator for the well-known Engineering Company Sintecna Srl, under the direct supervision of its founders, as well as Chairs of the Politechnical University of Turin, Prof. Paolo Napoli, Prof. Giuseppe Mancini and Prof. Walter Ceretto: in that context, I partecipated to the development of relevant executive design activities carried on by the company in the city of Turin, such as the construction design of the metro railway, for the Porta Nuova railway station, and the renovation of the new “Turin Cinema Museum” inside the XIX century building, known as “Mole Antonelliana” from the name of its designer, the italian Architect Alessandro Antonelli.

In 2003 I won the public selection for the post of Architect at the Engineering Department of “TOBO”, namely the Turin Olympic Broadcasting Organization of the Olympic Committee for the XX Olympic Winter Games, in view of the upcoming Olympics which took place in 2006.

I was in charge to the supervision of the preliminary, executive and final dismantling design activities of the broadcasting facilities collectively named “IBC Center” for media such as, inter alia, BBC, NBC, CNN, RAI and several other radio and tv stations, for studios and facilities to be built inside three pavillions of the existing expo- building complex “Lingotto Fiere” in Turin. I was also in charge to streamline design and construction activities for the IBC alpine center in Sestriere Colle (Torino’s Olympic Alps).

The Olympics experience was a really valuable multidisciplinary opportunity to further enhance my professional skills; thereby, I also add the enlighting experience to meet and work side-by-side with several relevant professionals with whom I continue to collaborate to date, such as the engineer Antonio Alvigini, well-known expert in fire-fighting design in the Turin area.

In January 2007, together with the Engineer Danilo Luchini I founded the “Environmental Design & Engineering studio” in Turin, where I worked until December 2018, carring on architectural civil and industrial design works integrated with energetic, acustical and fire-figting aspects for private and public customers such as, inter alia, the State Hospital complex of Molinette, Microtecnica Srl (Microelectronic-device production Company providing subsystems to ESA and NASA), Fiat CNH, Tunnel Euralpin Lion Turin S.A.S in Turin, etc.

Over my professional years, I also have got specialized in MEP design coordination, fire prevention and acoustical design and carried out study and training activities at the Council of State Architects in Turin, where I proactively contributed to the work of Council’s scientific committees, particularly in the areas of structures, fire prevention and energy; I also dealt with legal expert reports in various sectors related to integrated constructions, also as Technical Consultant for the Tribunal of Turin.

In 2017 I began to collaborate with the Aerospace Engineering companies SpaceLand Italia Srl (Italy) and its spin-off SpaceLand Africa Ltd (Mauritius, see http://www.iafastro.org/membership) for which, together with a team of specialists and prof. Walter Ceretto, professor of the Polytechnical University of Turin, I am taking care of an ambitious integrated project with low environmental impact and almost zero-energy-building requirements, preliminarily endorsed by the United Nations, with the objective to develop a first Aerospace Training Center and a Space-inspired urbanistic hub on the main island of Mauritius; both such projects have been presented in numerous international events, through invitational speeches, in particular at the High-Level Forum organized the United Nations in Dubai in late 2017, and at the first Global Conference on the Space of Emerging Countries (Morocco, April 2019) within the presentation of Eng. Carlo Viberti (see http://www.iafastro.org/events/global-series-conferences/glec-2019/programme/session-3-technology-and-skills-development/ ) and at a second invitational conference by the United Nations in China at the end of April 2019.

In December 2018, together with Eng. Danilo Luchini, I winded down ED Engineering and relocated to the province of Varese to open, in January 2019, a new headquarter of my technical office near the Lake of Lugano where I currently work as a free-lancer, carrying out both public and private contractual activities, while continuing the collaboration with eng. Luchini who kept the name of our former Studio as professional activity in Turin.

For my professional design and development works I utilize one of the most advanced design software of the BIM platform (Building Information Modeling) and of the best rendering software tools available on the market, benefitting from their quality and wide range of facilities available to meet the most advanced international standards as required in the field of public works.
